Walking in the Light

'Yet there were many Jewish leaders who believed in Jesus, but because they feared the Pharisees they kept it secret, so they wouldn’t be ostracized by the assembly of the Jews. For they loved the glory that men could give them rather than the glory that came from God!' John 12:42-43 (TPT)

Choose wisely what you will believe and who you will follow. Follow the correct path. But how can we know it? Take the path that is less traveled. Find the directions to find the Truth in His Word. Stay the course. Can't you see that if it's not of God then it is of man? What good is man? Man can built it. It can be a thing to admire, but without God it won't last. Can the things of man save anyone? Sadly, the answer is 'no'. Man can copy. Man can imitate. Imperfect man. Imperfect faith. Man cannot save. Man as leader is usually a hypocrite. Man needs Jesus.

The hypocrisy of it all is that some men will believe in Jesus and yet refuse to confess it. That's the difficult part of unbelief. Know this. Know that the confession will bring out the naysayers. The confession will bring out the scoffers and the complainers. Try it and find out for yourself. Take a stand in a public place and be prepared to find the ridiculous ridiculer. It's good to know who your friends are. The words and works of Jesus demand a response yet imperfect faith refuses to complete itself. Imperfect faith never leads to anything of lasting value. Imperfect faith only leads to the puffing up of man. Imperfect faith only leads to the puffing up of pride. Smoke and mirrors. Witchcraft. Don't waste your time. Don't waste your money. Confession leads to the perfection of your faith

Confess it now. What do you believe? Pride leads to the fall. Many of the leaders of His day believed in Jesus. They saw His power and witnessed His miracles. They heard Him speak. Yet they feared being put out of the assembly so they kept quiet. They missed it. They kept quiet so that they could continue to gain status with their peers and with that they were pleased with themselves and thus condemned from the start. They feared man more than they feared God.

What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his own soul? That's the question I hear God saying to leaders. Fear God. No man is worth it if it means we must denounce God. Rejection comes, even in church, when we take a stand for Jesus and it is hurtful but the pain lasts for only a season. Life without God is eternal. Choose wisely. Perfect Love drives out fear. There is nothing of eternal value to be gained by seeking the glory of men. It's fading. It's just one more flattering compliment that is meant to ensnare. None be the wiser for it. Nothing more to be gained here by it. Nothing of value to profit the soul. The portrait of disaster. The portrait of the apostate.

Maybe it is time for a change. Maybe it is time to move on to where the trials come from the Lord, not from man and they are for a higher purpose that will profit the soul. Maybe it is time to seek God's face and to hear from Him directly. Maybe it is time to go to the secret place where God is calling you to join Him. The hiding place. The place where He hands out the compliments and shares His Glory with His children for ever and ever, and even to the ends of the earth. That's where I want to be. Closer to Him. Walking in the Light. Under the shadow of His wings. Give me Jesus. Even greater things than these things we will do in His name. To God be the Glory!
