Shadowed by Cherubim Wings of Glory

'Jesus’ God-given destiny was to be the sacrifice to take away sins, and now he is our mercy seat because of his death on the cross. We come to him for mercy, for God has made a provision for us to be forgiven by faith in the sacred blood of Jesus. This is the perfect demonstration of God’s justice, because until now, he had been so patient—holding back his justice out of his tolerance for us. So he covered over the sins of those who lived prior to Jesus’ sacrifice.' Romans 3:25 (TPT)

Studying the Word brings so much more meaning to the words. The mercy seat also refers to the lid of the Ark of the Covenant. Over the covering that protected the Covenant the Cherubim of glory shadowed the mercy seat with their wings. That Ark was veiled and approached only by the high priest. The high priest stood in the Most Holy Place and sprinkled the blood offering on it for the atonement of sins during Old Covenant times. But now, thankfully, God has made a way for us to be forgiven and through Jesus' God-given destiny we are living under a New Covenant of grace. Jesus was and is the sacrifice to take away sin and is seated on His Throne and is the seat of mercy that is not hidden but is available for everyone. He is our covering. His blood was spilled for the atonement of our sins and forgiveness is given to those who repent and put their faith in Him and believe by faith that He is their Savior.

Jesus saves. He is what the world is looking for. His is an example of perfect Love and He loves me. He is so patient and tolerant with me. He has made a provision for me with His mercy and grace to be forgiven. He holds back his justice for my rebellion and He covers over all of my sins with His very own blood. I don't deserve it but because of it all and His love for me I could do nothing less than love Him back even more. To God be the Glory!

Jesus' blood was a propitiation through faith (Romans 3:21-26)
