Calling it Out by Calling it In
'For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.' Romans 1:20-32 (NKJV)
This is the day that we live in. These are the signs of the times. These are the days and times of evil. Just like the days of old when God's people gave themselves over to a carnal climate and they having no regrets. They became like people with no feelings of remorse or sorrow. Is there nothing like humility before God left anywhere? Is there no conscience? With no repentance, so then we get what we get. It is what it is. Evil and sinful behavior becomes the norm. They knew Him, yet they did not glorify Him. This is the danger of living in an atmosphere that defies God's way. It may be slow to manifest at first, but sin accelerates with each passing day of our fall. Lack of Godly people, lack of conviction is what it brings. Ignoring God and His wrath is revealed as the flames of hell grow even higher. He gave them up to uncleanness.
When the conscience goes, so goes the soul's ability to distinguish and act upon what is morally good. These verses are our warning. That with our falling away from God and Godly principles and focus we will sear our conscience and our sensitivity to the things of God. The longer we live in this state of insensitivity to the things of God the more we might allow these unclean things that we do to take root and a stronghold to develop which could change our normal ways of thinking and eventually change our culture. Once seared it is so hard to restore what has been lost, yet there is hope. The way back to a Godly conscience is through repentance.
But there is hope for the culture. Just like every other move of God, we find hope in the historical record. We've learned to wait for it. We've learned to call it out as we call it in. We wait for demolition day, when the wreckers show up with the vision and a word from God. We say come forth as we begin to see the things of the Spirit revealed and become part of the movement to build a new thing that will host a new culture. I can see the bulldozers lining up in the distance even now. This culture of ours is beginning to shift. And it is the hope of Glory. The things of religion that man has built are about to come down as things of the Spirit begin to rise in their place. That hope is in the God of the Bible and in Truth and in the Spiritually clean things of our once great nation.
We are thankful to see the roots of revival and this fresh anointing begin to rise up in the hearts of man during this generation. We see a place where miracles and God's power and glory are being revealed in us. We see a place where God's people are called to gather and to pray. We see a place where God's Kingdom atmosphere is the norm and the knowledge of God is retained and expanded. We see a healing place where the men and women of God are filled with righteousness and sexual morality. We see a place where there are no vain thoughts within them. A place where they are free to be thankful and to give Him glory, and as the Light of Goodness is restored to us that there be no evil or wicked thing in them.
So let it be as You have said Lord. Come to us and build Your Kingdom in our hearts again. We long to hear Your heartbeat of Love for us. We repent. You are welcome here. We invite You to come and reign in the hearts of your people once again. Amen.
