Calling Home

'But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.' Jude 1:17-23 (ESV)

This warning, lest we forget, is to remind each one of us what the apostles so wisely taught us! Don't forget that they even predicted what life would be like during the last days. Recall how they described to us in great detail that there would be scoffers among us and how those who doubt the faith would leave it to follow their own twisted passions. Have mercy on these sinful men and women.

For the ones that are filled with doubt are confused and are certainly capable of taking their divisive ways with them. They see the world in shades of gray. It's their way and only their way. They refuse to see the Truth and they refuse to believe. They follow the way of the ungodly, there is no spirit of Holiness or life in them. Save them. Snatch them out of the fire.

For the others that may be blindly deceived and innocently following the rest like lost sheep, show them mercy. Save them with tenderness. Save them using fear and by stressing the terrors of the Lord to bring them to repentance.

In everything else, hate the crime and the sin and the flesh and do all in our power to avoid it. Keep as far away from the area of darkness as possible. Don't let one another fall into the trap. Help one another avoid the hurtful snares. Use the gifts He has given us.

While the fires of hell are burning we are to do all we can to build ourselves up. We are to build ourselves up in the grace of faith for it is most Holy and works in Love to purify our hearts to overcome the world and gives us Life! We are to build ourselves up and to pray in the Holy Spirit for He guides and directs us in the ways of the Lord and we know that those prayers are fervent, persistent and most effective.

It's Okay to call Home. We are to stir up the faith, especially in our old age and worn out state. We are to persevere and take our own stand against the tricks of the enemy by doing all we can to stay in the love of God. His love never fails. We cannot tire. We cannot quit. We must continue on in the fight for what is right in the Kingdom of God. God's love will sustain us. God's love will endure. His love will take us through until the mercy of Jesus Christ shows up to take us home.
