Friday's Song
'O my soul, come, praise the Eternal with all that is in me—body,
emotions, mind, and will—every part of who I am— praise His holy name. O
my soul, come, praise the Eternal; sing a song from a grateful heart;
sing and never forget all the good He has done.
Despite all your many offenses, He forgives and releases you. More than any doctor, He heals your diseases. He reaches deep into the pit to deliver you from death. He crowns you with unfailing love and compassion like a king. When your soul is famished and withering, He fills you with good and beautiful things, satisfying you as long as you live. He makes you strong like an eagle, restoring your youth praise His holy name.' Psalm 103:1-5 (VOICE)
Often times I realize that it is the pardon of my sins that keeps me from the effects of it. When the desire is removed, I am freed from its hold over me. Cause is removed, logically, effect is denied it's ugly hold on me. Nothing good is kept from me because of it. My habits then become like one more 'I love You Lord' song. Repent. Rinse. Restored. Repeat. I am clean. I am forgiven. I am crowned with His unfailing love. I wear His compassion like a Queen.
The matured Queen, even the one finding herself on the other side of youth is able to find the cure. Cured by God's grace and comforted by His Spirit I am, through the renewing of my own spirit and that daily. I find His Word to be most satisfying, it fills me with new life and joy that always gives me strength and returns me to my younger days. Everything is made new when I put it in the right context and look through spiritual lenses to find Jesus in it.
So, here I am again; in the place where I always long to be, doing the thing that He has called me to do, singing His praises and remembering all the good things He has done for me and not just me, but for my family and my friends as well. Finding it within me to thank Him. Thank you Jesus. Lifting up His name in praise for He is Holy. Directing the choir of angels in just one more chorus. Reminding them of this and of that, lest we forget and go on.
Forget? Please no. Not that. No. Never. Let my coming and going always be about the worship. Never taking You for granted. Always having a praise report on my lips. Never just shuffling through life without picking up my feet first and planting them firmly down on the spot which You have provided. Being thankful in the moment. Blessing You in the here and now. Seeing Your hand in it. Your healing hands. Your hands of forgiveness. Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! That's my Savior's name. This Golden Eagle is ready to soar.
