Circumcision of the Heart
'Now it happened at the lodging place, that the Lord met Moses and
sought to kill him [making him deathly ill because he had not
circumcised one of his sons]. Then Zipporah took a flint knife and cut
off the foreskin of her son and threw it at Moses’ feet, and said,
“Indeed you are a husband of blood to me!” So He let Moses alone [to
recover]. At that time Zipporah said, “You are a husband of blood”—because of the circumcision.' Exodus 4:24-26 (AMP)
I see me, a wife and a mother, in this place of rest. I see the country that I love and call home, dealing with similar things because some of her people of faith are also resting in their own comfortable lodging places. We should all be concerned when our leaders are resting and our mothers take charge with lack of full understand of the Lord's covenant. When our leaders are kept silent by the Bride who intends on putting a stop to what the Lord has called our great men of virtue to do because it disgusts them, we may see illness soon fall on that house. It is a dangerous place for our nation to be.
When we, the faithful rest and resist before we have done all that we are called to do, God will be moved to action against our rebellion of omission. He loves us too much to leave us alone in our tents of excess. He calls us out. He protects us. He gives us a Word of direction. He is a God of justice. He says to us, Wake up my sons and daughters! Look inward. What's wrong with your heart? Wake up all mothers of faith, just as Zipporah finally did.
When we fail to do what He has commanded and lack the faith to believe in His promises there will be consequences. Sin has consequences. We cannot save ourselves. Eventually, the blood of Jesus must be applied. For our own good, God may force us to take responsibility. Sadly, we may be forced to see that our spiritual blindness and inaction may be making our husbands sick and may be killing our first born.
Women of faith, we must be the ones to rise up and take up the Sword of Faith. Telling the Truth and saving the innocent are worth fighting for. We must speak the Good News of truth to each other in Love. We must turn away from our sins and follow God's commands in order to save the blessings which we have been given; our husbands and our first born sons. Lord, awaken our hearts again to the New Covenant of grace we now live under. We need You to help us make a new beginning, and a new start. Turn us away from our feelings and our selves and our disbelief and back to You. Heal our land.
God, is calling us out as a spiritual nation again. You see Your Bride, Your sons and Your daughters as fully devoted to only You. Dusting off our Bibles. Kneeling to pray and seek your face. Obedient. Repentant. Converted and regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Partaking in the communion of saints. Following the Covenant of Baptism. Obeying You and following Your Holy commands. Staying under the blood of Jesus and the spiritual circumcision of the heart. Heal Your people and Your great land this day! Amen.
