Veil #2

'We have this hope as an anchor for ·the soul [our lives], ·sure [stable; secure] and ·strong [reliable; unshifting]. It enters behind the curtain in the ·Most Holy Place in heaven [inner place/sanctuary] where Jesus has gone ·ahead of us [as a forerunner] ·and for us [on our behalf]. He has become the high priest forever, a priest like Melchizedek.' Hebrews 6:19-20 (EXB)

'The first ·agreement [covenant; contract given to Israel through Moses] had ·rules [regulations; requirements] for worship and a ·place on earth for worship [earthly sanctuary/holy place]The ·Holy Tent [Tabernacle] was ·set up [constructed; prepared] for this. The first area in the Tent was called the Holy Place. In it were the lampstand and the table with the ·bread that was made holy for God [consecrated bread; bread of presentation/offering]Behind the second curtain was a ·room [section; tent] called the ·Most Holy Place [Holy of Holies]In it was a golden altar for burning incense and the ·Ark [box; chest] ·that held the old agreement [of the covenant/contract], covered [completely; on all sides] with gold. Inside this Ark was a golden jar of manna, Aaron’s rod that once grew leaves, and the stone tablets of the ·old agreement [covenant; contract].' Hebrews 9:1-4 (EXB)

'We can enter through a new and living way that Jesus ·opened [or restored; renewed; or inaugurated] for us. It leads through the curtain—Christ’s ·body [flesh; like the curtain of the Most Holy Place, Christ’s body, sacrificed for us, provides access to the presence of God].' Hebrews 10:20 (EXB)

There is this image of a Holy God in Heavenly places, connected to all the souls of the sinful saints on earth by an anchor.  This is our hope. This anchor is strong. This anchor entered heaven behind the veil. There is literally a second veil, seeming to be like a sea of glass, that keeps the mysteries of God hidden from our view. This veil separates heaven from earth. This veil separates God from man. This veil separates the Spiritual from the world. This veil separates Holiness from sin. This veil keeps everything in place and balanced, until the day when God tells Jesus to hoist them in!

It is our sin that separates us from God. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. All have sinned and need a Savior. Jesus is the new and living way to enter in and have access to God. That veil that separates us from God is thin when we become part of the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit draws us in and reveals Jesus to us when our spiritual eyes are opened to Him. When He opens our eyes, we can catch glimpses of His Glory!

Dear Father. Forgive me for my sins. Thank you for providing a way that I might have total and complete access to You through Jesus. I need You every hour. May Your will be done. I love You Father. In Jesus's name.  Amen.
