Third Veil

'Jesus passionately cried out, took his last breath, and gave up his spirit.

At that moment the veil in the Holy of Holies was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth shook violently, rocks were split apart, and graves were opened. Then many of the holy ones who had died were brought back to life and came out of their graves. And after Jesus’ resurrection, they were plainly seen by many people walking in Jerusalem.

Now, when the Roman military officer and his soldiers witnessed what was happening and felt the powerful earthquake, they were extremely terrified. They said, “There is no doubt, this man was the Son of God!”' Matthew 27:50-54 (TPT)

'And now we are brothers and sisters in God’s family because of the blood of Jesus, and he welcomes us to come right into the most holy sanctuary in the heavenly realm—boldly and with no hesitation. For he has dedicated a new, life-giving way for us to approach God. For just as the veil was torn in two, Jesus’ body was torn open to give us free and fresh access to him!

And since we now have a magnificent King-Priest to welcome us into God’s house, we come closer to God and approach him with an open heart, fully convinced by faith that nothing will keep us at a distance from him. For our hearts have been sprinkled with blood to remove impurity and we have been freed from an accusing conscience and now we are clean, unstained, and presentable to God inside and out!' Hebrews 10:19-21 (TPT)

The veil in the temple was symbolic for it literally represented Christ's body, His flesh and blood, so that when sacrificed and torn and offered to the Father, all sinners were given a life giving way to access God and heaven through Him. Hallelujah.

That there was only one veil separating God and man, so there is now only one way, our free and fresh access, made to Him through Christ. That the veil was made of fine pure linen, with fabrics twisted together, and it was so much like our Savior who is Holy and strong.

As the spiritual veil of Christ's flesh was torn on that Cross and at the very moment of His death the physical veil in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom and the spiritual barrier between Holy God and sinful man was taken away.  The barrier was removed and access to Heaven through the torn body and the blood of Jesus was given. That veil of His flesh was torn and His blood was applied in that we all might see the Glory of God revealed through His Son.

Jesus died for us all while we were yet sinners. He died and 'gave up his spirit' so that we all might live. At His death, the earth shook, rocks were split in two and graves were opened! Even the Roman military officer and his soldiers witnessed and declared that Jesus was the Son of God! The Cross is still our way to repentance.and righteousness through Christ for it was our sins that put Him there.

Dear Father. Forgive me for my sins. Thank You that my heart has been sprinkled with Jesus's blood to remove all impurities. Thank you for the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for Your mercy and for saving me. Thank You that through Your Son Jesus Christ, who was the perfect sacrifice, I have been given access to Your Glory. Thank You for His Work of redemption and saving grace at the Cross. Thank You that I am part of Your family and because of the precious blood of Jesus, I am welcomed into Heaven and I am even given access to Heaven's Most Holy Place, the very realm of Glory, and told to enter in with confidence and boldness! In Jesus's name. Amen.
