Pride vs Humility

'We are demolishing arguments and ideas, every high-and-mighty philosophy that pits itself against the knowledge of the one true God. We are taking prisoners of every thought, every emotion, and subduing them into obedience to the Anointed One. As soon as you choose obedience, we stand ready to punish every act of disobedience.' 2 Corinthians 10:5-6 (VOICE)

In Paul's day the threats against God were from paganism, today we battle impure thoughts and motives, secular humanism, existentialism, post modernism, the occult and many other beliefs and philosophies. Pride of the flesh is on full display. As Christians, our battle is a spiritual one. We must remain humble, and stand against the false teachings. We must take prisoner every thought and emotion that is not from heaven.

False religions and secular philosophies create impure thoughts that imprisons the minds of many. The god of this age, knowing his days are few, is working overtime to blind the minds of unbelievers to the light of the gospel and the glory of Christ. Ideas and opinions that question the Divinity and the blood of Christ come straight from the enemy and we know that he is a liar. The thief's motives are nothing less than to take us captive and torment us. It starts with a simple idea, you can know more, then the downfall begins. The thoughts of this day that question our moral fabric, are dangerous. They lead to politically correct thought police and to death. Look at how some of these current thinkers lived their own lives and how they died and ask yourself, is that the thought of a wise man or a fool? That is why we are instructed to cast down every imagination that is not from the Master. Cast them down and subdue them into obedience to the Anointed One. The truth sets us free.

We can make our thoughts obedient to the Word of God and confront evil thoughts, errors and wrong teachings of the day by using the weapon we have been given, the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God.
