An Army of Women
'But you must teach what agrees with sound doctrine. Instruct the older
men to be sober, sensible, and self-controlled; to be sound in their
faith, love, and endurance. In the same way instruct the older women to
behave as women should who live a holy life. They must not be slanderers
or slaves to wine. They must teach what is good, in order to train the
younger women to love their husbands and
children, to be self-controlled and pure, and to be good housewives who
submit themselves to their husbands, so that no one will speak evil of
the message that comes from God...
For God has revealed his grace for the salvation of all people. That grace instructs us to give up ungodly living and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this world, as we wait for the blessed Day we hope for, when the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ will appear. He gave himself for us, to rescue us from all wickedness and to make us a pure people who belong to him alone and are eager to do good.' Titus 2:1-5, 11-14 (GNT)
God is raising up an army of women. His army. Who best, to train up the next generation than the nurturers? Who best to mentor the younger women than the older women? Those older women that have decided to live a holy life have a lot to give. Those older women that have put off slandering others and getting drunk on strong drink have much to share. Those older women that have learned a few things in life and grown in their faith enough to know right from wrong could also encourage others to do the same. Those older women that aren't afraid to speak the truth to young women and tell them to love their husbands and their children. This kind of sharing in love may be just the encouragement a young women needs to hear and may be just what the world needs today as well.
God is raising up an army of women. The world needs well aged older women to mentor younger women and show them how to endure and to be self controlled and pure, and even how to be good housewives and to be submissive to their husbands and to God.
God is raising up an army of women. Older women teaching younger women is God's way. You see groups of women starting to mentor other women everywhere. God has a huge gray-haired army of women living out His Kingdom here on earth, already equipped, well trained, capable and so willing to serve. His example of equipping others is through teaching.
God is raising up an army of women. God's warriors are grandmothers, no longer in lipstick and stilettos, but fighting the good fight just the same. One on one, single handed combat. Fighting our battles in the kitchen, in the laundry room, in the classroom, in knitting circles, in the music room, in our cars, and in the boardroom. We truly are winning the war of life on our knees in prayer. Eager to do good as we wait for the blessed Day when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will appear. Titus 2 women are eager to do good as we wait for the blessed Day when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will appear.
