All Things Done Well

' At once the man could hear and talk normally.

Jesus ordered the people not to tell anyone. But the more he ordered them, the more they spread the news. Jesus completely amazed the people. They said, “He has done everything well. He makes the deaf hear and the mute talk.” Mark 7:35-37 (GW)

The beauty is in the doing, and oh how Jesus does everything so well. Amazingly well, really. Precise. Perfect. The perfect gift. He met the man. The man that could not hear or speak normally. He healed the man and made him whole again. Just imagine it! How it stunned the crowd that was watching. How it amazed the deaf man himself! Oh my. All things done well. The cure was even beyond what they had hoped. The man was totally healed!

The man had learned to live with his deafness. With the loss of hearing your body tries to help out and the other senses kick in and are more dynamic. Your body will compensate with better eye sight or sense of smell. Oh, but to be able to hear is so much more than being able to feel the beat, or to watch the blinking lights. Longing is there. Desire. Dreams and visions. If only there was a cure. And there is. His name is Jesus, Lord and eardrum grower! He spoke the Word and the deaf man received a new eardrum!

That was Jesus's ministry. He went about teaching and helping people. He was there for them and to meet every need. He lived gracefully. He died gracefully. He accomplished His mission and then He left us gracefully. He died for us. Wasn't that what He agreed to do? That same gift is available for us now. He gave Himself to us and offered us grace and gave us a way out. For the deaf, they are healed and able to sing His praises. In the process the whole world watches and for those that believe they are changed. How can one not be changed by One so merciful? A love so great. A life so beautiful. Now, He says, go and live your life as you ought to. No doubts. No regrets. No more sin and pain. You are healed! Healed in Jesus name. Amazing!
