The Hope That Freedom Brings
'And in that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
“I will pour out on the house of David and on the people of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace (unmerited favor) and supplication. And they will look at Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him as one who weeps bitterly over a firstborn. In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning of [the city of] Hadadrimmon in the Valley of Megiddo [over beloved King Josiah]. The land will mourn, every family by itself; the [royal] family of the house of David by itself and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan [David’s son] by itself and their wives by themselves; the [priestly] family of the house of Levi by itself and their wives by themselves; the family of Shimei [grandson of Levi] by itself and their wives by themselves; all the families that remain, each by itself, and their wives by themselves [each with an overwhelming individual regret for having blindly rejected their Messiah].' Zechariah 12:9-14 (AMP)
God defends her, His beloved Israel, and one day He will return to deliver His people to salvation. He seeks to destroy all nations that come against Jerusalem. He will pour out His Spirit of grace and supplication upon His people. For the house of David, though blinded now, one great day they will see it all more clearly and look upon Jesus and mourn for Him and regret having wrongly rejected their Messiah.
And thankfully, America is already a Christian nation. God loves and defends her because she defends Jerusalem and does not reject the Messiah. This country was founded on grace. The Grace of God and the wisdom of the Founding Fathers brought them together and they knew where their power would come from to make this a great nation. It wasn't by might but by the power and will of God that they created the greatest nation the world has ever known. Where else would the ideas of liberty and our freedoms come from except the Lord? The puritans and the pilgrims placed their faith in Jesus and formed a community of believers based on Godly values and principles. God blessed them. God protected them. And He still does.
As goes the Church, so goes the nation, blessed and protected. As goes the Church, so goes the Christian, saved. As goes the Church, so goes God, Supreme. As goes the Church, so goes the only real Christian nation and beacon of hope left in the world, strong and secure. She stands for liberty and the wall of faith around her is strong. We, her citizens, stand with arms locked, so that no evil gets in. All united in prayer that she would remain true. All praying for the lost, the mentally weak, and the spiritually bankrupt that Christ would save them. Even now, we cannot stumble.
For this is a nation founded on prayer. And Christians pray. They pray for their enemies, that none should perish. They pray that none should perish but that all would abide by the principles of faith. It is unity in Spirit that drives them on through the storms of life that mean to take them out, if even for a moment. The Light of Christ shines through the Church as it continues to be the lighthouse to the world. As believers, they bring the hope and love of Christ to their families, and to their neighborhoods and to their nation and even to he world. God saves. God sets the standard for right-living and He rejects evil for He is Holy.
As He is Holy, those that believe, live under His calling to be holy and to be like Him and they enjoy the benefits of knowing Him. He heals them of all of their diseases. He fills them with His Love. The very Spirit of God lives in them filling them with the hope that freedom brings from that worthy calling.
