We, The Living
'In Christ’s family there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew,
slave and free, male and female. Among us you are all equal. That is, we
are all in a common relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, since you are
Christ’s family, then you are Abraham’s famous “descendant,” heirs
according to the covenant promises.' Galatians 3:28-29 (MSG)
We are all one in the family of God. We share one moral personality. Our individual differences merge together in unity under the one main purpose. That one main thing is our higher calling, we are to live as one in Christ.
To live as one in Christ is to live with no divisions between the Jew and the Gentile. We are all equally accepted. We are to live as one. To live as one in Christ is to live as free men and women, there can be no slavery in a Christian nation. And aren't we blessed to have had our country fight a war to abolish that evil practice! To live in Christ is to live united as men and women. We are all brothers and sisters in the Kingdom and everyone is an equal in the family of Christ. We are His sons and daughters. We are all in a common relationship with Him. To enjoy our great privileges, these divisions just simply cannot be.
To live in Christ's family means we are all descendants of Abraham. His covenant promises prevail! We are his heirs. We are entitled to the life-changing challenges and blessings that God made to him. "Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who curses you I will curse, and in you shall all the families of the earth be blessed" (Genesis 12:1–3).
We are all one in Christ Jesus. He chose us. We are united together with Him. He redeemed us with His blood and regenerates us with His Spirit. We are His chosen people. We are His children and we are all heirs to the same grace and glory. We are to be like Him. The old man is gone. We are the new man, with one new body with Christ as the head. We are a new creation! Old, dead things have passed away and now we are being replaced with new things. Things full of life. We, the living. What He has done for us is so amazing. Glory to God!
