Glad Tidings

'Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” Luke 2:8-12 (NKJV)

Here is our sign...

Where was Jesus born? You will find Him In the City of King David. Interestingly, his parents where ordered to be there during a census, by the most powerful man in the world.

Who got the birth announcement first? Ironically, the ones that were busy watching over the sacrificial lambs.

What happened immediately after the birth was announced? Instantaneously, the heavens exploded with praise! Oh Glorious Day!

What was the Lord wearing? Innocently, God was wearing swaddling cloths because He decided to leave the riches of heaven and come down to live among us in the form of a helpless newborn baby and so much more. A Savior who will deliver us from all our enemies. The Messiah that would fulfill all of God's promises. The Lord in all of His Glory.

When was He born? Incandescently, He was born at night during a time when the world was full of darkness and in need of His Marvelous Light.

Who was this Baby? Indiscreetly, He was the only baby in Bethlehem that was lying in a manger. Presented to us as the lowest of the low so that we might always feel that we have total access to Him. Lying in a manger, the place where the animals eat, to remind us that He is our Spiritual food and the Bread of Life!

How do we react to this good news of One so great being sent to help us? Infatuation and Intensity. Glad Tidings. There is no other way. Good tidings of great joy that will be to all the people! Amen!
