Unshakeable God

“Now Lord, look at their threats and give to your servants the ability to keep on speaking your word with all boldness as you stretch out your hand to heal and as signs and wonders take place through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After they prayed, the place where they were gathered was shaken. Also, everyone was filled with the Holy Spirit, and they continued to speak the word of God with boldness.' Acts 4:29-31 (EHV)

Their threat was real. Don't you know it was even coming from the religious authorities, the very ones that had crucified their Lord? A normal reaction would be to retreat. Save yourselves. Yet, even though the heat was on them to stop preaching and going and doing, they gathered to pray. Even though the heat was on them and the threat was real they gathered to pray and to seek the filling of the Holy Spirit's power. They gathered to pray for the power to persist. They gathered to pray for more boldness to preach the gospel. They gathered to pray for even more ability to heal. They gathered to pray for supernatural powers and signs and wonders. God heard their prayers. God gave them a sign that He heard their prayers and they were filled with even more of His Spirit.

Even today we see the enemy try to kill the messenger of good news with their questions regarding the controversies of the day. Don't offend. Even today we hear of the violence being perpetrated on faith believers in other lands. Unto death. Even today we witness the works of the non-believers in our own country by the tearing down of our foundational principles and the chipping away at our rights and freedoms which we once knew and held dear. Separation of church and state. God save us from ourselves. When the church is gagged and becomes disengaged the silence means that people who need God's grace and to hear Your gospel of truth won't. So, even today, we gather together to pray.

Dear Heavenly Father. So we come to You now, Lord, just like they did then. We ask You for boldness and more Holy Ghost power to use Your name. This is our prayer. We seek relevance in a culture filled with pride and greed plus the other five Deadly Sins. This is our anthem. Give us the power to keep on speaking Your Word. We make our appeal to heaven for another great awakening. We intend to go forth using Your strength alone. Even now we are encouraged by You. Your Word has power to enable us to do great things as You stretch out your hand to heal and as signs and wonder follow, through the name of Jesus.  This day we speak boldly of Your great love for us.  When we seek You, we find You and we do not fear for our faith is established in You and we shall not be moved or shaken for You are an unshakeable God. Guide, deliver and protect us as we pursue Your mission of Glory down Your path of duty. In Jesus name. Amen
