Sights and Sounds in the Sanctuary

'The singers lead the way. After them come the musicians. In the middle are virgins playing hand drums. In the assemblies bless God, the Lord, who is the Fountain of Israel.' Psalm 68:25-26 (EHV)

Our God is like a tympani! Mighty and strong is He. He fills the house with His glory and His people come to Him in orderly fashion to shout their praise and to tell stories of their victories.

Can you imagine the look of shock on the faces of David's enemies as they witnessed the enormous multitude of worshipers before them at the great victory dance? Imagine the emotions and the anger they felt in their hearts as they admitted defeat and submitted to him. For the defeated, all of their bitter complaints go unnoticed as they bowed their heads to the spectacular sights and sounds of David and his kingdom on their way to church. Bend the knee they shall. Battle after battle he claimed victory over them. He was a shepherd to his flock. He was a mighty warrior as well as a skilled musician. He was a man after God's own heart, and most of his time was spent praising His God in the sanctuary and bowing his head to the Holy One.

David was like Jesus Christ. There is none like Jesus. Though we may lose a battle we praise Him that we won the war. Through Him, we won the battle over; the disease, the election, the finances, the negative thoughts, the relationships and so much more. Most importantly, through Him, He won the battle over our soul and we run to Him and bow the knee because we are nothing without Him. He is mighty. He is strong. He is my shepherd. He is my deliverer. He is my King. His people come to Him in orderly fashion to give a shout of praise and to give their testimonies. My God is like a tympani. He fills His house of praise with His glory.
