The Consolator

 God, investigate my life;

    get all the facts firsthand.
I’m an open book to you;
    even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking.
You know when I leave and when I get back;
    I’m never out of your sight.
You know everything I’m going to say
    before I start the first sentence.
I look behind me and you’re there,
    then up ahead and you’re there, too—
    your reassuring presence, coming and going.
This is too much, too wonderful—
    I can’t take it all in!' Psalm 139:1-6 (MSG)

'This is God’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

“When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen.' Jeremiah 29:10-12 (MSG)

The Omnipotent! The Omnipresent! The Omniscient! That is who You are Lord! You know me Lord. I cannot pretend to be someone I'm not with You. You have perfect knowledge about me. You know everything that there is to know about me. For these reasons I know You and yet, know enough to know that I can never know all of You.

I am in Your presence both day and night, I am arrested by the very thought of You. I am on Your mind continually, I am caught in the very act and yet You do not reject me, but even then, You still love me. There is no escaping. There is no reason to even try. You love me so completely, and so I find myself devoted and so very helplessly dependent and surrendered to You, to Your Plan, Your Will, Your Way.

Your loving Hands are there to steady me and also to restrain. You know my weaknesses. You know everything that I need. You take care of me. You know my pain. You console me. You are the very Present help in my time of need. You are the One that I need at all times and in all seasons. You have hopeful plans for me. You inspire me to go on and to do the hard things. You are the reason that I strive to be a better me and I thank You that You will never leave. Amen.
