Built to Last

'So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man. “If anyone deserves your help, he does,” they said,  “for he loves the Jewish people and even built a synagogue for us.”' Luke 7:4-5 (NLT)

'What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.' Psalm 33:12 (NLT)

'Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people.' Proverbs 14:34 (NLT)

My Country, 'Tis of Thee! Can you build it to last?  Just take a look at some of  the incredible things the people of this great nation have done. Even greater things are yet to come, though now we seem to have lost our way to a spiritual crisis in America which is trying to destroy the nation and that is apostasy in the church. We bow the knee to everything and anything but the Lord and the Lion of Judah.

Just look at what some of that great cloud of witnesses that have gone on before us have accomplished here. They build roads and trains and cars and planes. They created and brought electricity and clean water to every business and residence. They developed technology, and built electronics and radios and televisions and computers. They mechanized agriculture. And don't forget all of the rights that we have, including freedom of religion and liberty. We also have this incredibly great economic system which is capable of raising everyone out of poverty and not just here but everywhere! We as a nation were called to bless Israel and to evangelize the whole world. Haven't we done that? Amen!

In the past God has forgiven and blessed the nations of the world when His people repented. He has also destroyed nations when their rebellion became so bold that its people reached the point of no return. But God is slow to anger and just and He always raises up a banner of prophetic people to sound the alarm of warning to His pending wrath that is to come. We should listen to those voices and not despise the words of the prophets. We should heed the warnings. We should be receiving our wake up call soon. Haven't we had just about enough of the politics of division yet? The alarms have been going off for some time now. God is slow to anger but He will punish the guilty

And couldn't we approach the throne of God boldly as the Roman centurion approached Jesus and plead our case? We love the Jewish people. Haven't we build You a synagogue? For Your name's sake, oh Lord, please come and heal us. Please come and heal our land.

Mercy and holiness always bring forth industry, sobriety and honesty. Let's get serious. By merely observing justice and religious regulations our acts of obedience will regulate our activities and accomplishments and together we will make us a great nation again. Righteousness exalts and sin degrades.

Sin makes people miserable. Creativity dies. Injustice, lack of reverence, and violence are the sins of the heathen nations. Those things should never be allowed here. We should do better. We should be better. We could take care of one another better. If we took responsibility for ourselves, and took back control of our government again we could take back control of our lives again as well. There is freedom and there is liberty when we control our own lives and become active in our communities and schools again. There is justice when we bring back Godly principles and take all those outdated and ungodly socialism ideals to task.

Let's pray.

Dear Father. Those that fear You and Your wrath also find their hope in You and Your mercy. We are Your people. Let Your mercy always be upon us. Let us live in Your comfort and with the benefits that You provide us, not that we are worthy but that You have promised them to us in Your Word and we believe in You. Please come and heal us! Mercy roar! Raise up another great leader such as George Whitefield among us. We thank You now. In Jesus's mighty name. Amen.
