Delivering a Dose of Holiness

'But in Mount Zion there shall be those who escape,
    and it shall be holy,
and the house of Jacob shall possess their own possessions.
The house of Jacob shall be a fire,
    and the house of Joseph a flame,
    and the house of Esau stubble;
they shall burn them and consume them,
    and there shall be no survivor for the house of Esau,
for the Lord has spoken.' Obadiah 17-18 !ESV)

 Dear Father
Thank You for Your Word. Thank you for the words of the prophet Obadiah. Thank you Lord for the freedoms that we have in America. Through You we are like the house of Jacob and are able to possess our own possessions. We are the House that You built. We pray for our country and her people Lord. Amen!

For we know that You have chosen us and called us to be salt and light. As in the days of Jacob, Joseph and Esau, we see that You chasten Your people for their own good. Just as then, we can see the signs of the times, when the lawless one is unleashed. There is a war going on for souls right now in the heavens and the earth. Jesus, intercede for us. Let Your Light shine on all people. We know that when Your light fades all people suffer. 

 For You are a Good God. You are the God of Justice. You are Sovereign. You cannot tolerate sin. You will act when provoked to destroy the god of Baal. To correct us, You will destroy with fire the very idols and things that have disrespected You. Remove the veil so that all might see. You are the cure. You will deliver us. All we need to do is to take the bad-tasting medicine and out of the ashes will come a Heavenly dose of Holiness.

Even though the world may hate You, and even refuse to acknowledge that You exist, Your people still love and adore You. They will rise up to pray and to act on Your behalf. There are more of us than there are of them. We know who wins. We are blessed by You. We are called to worship You. Your Grace flows through Your people to the benefit of all. We see before our very own eyes, the problems in the world today, when that Grace does not flow and the morals of society decay. We see the problems of man and the structures that he has built with his own hands, to restore peace in order to bring order, but without You they are to no avail. Morals can only be the result of Your moral code and Your righteous Law.


So we pray. and we declare that the world needs You. Strengthen Your people with Your strong right hand. Wake us up before it's too late. Fill Your House with worshipers for Your Righteous Name's sake. Let justice. Restore mercy. Let the world see Jesus through us. Shine Your disinfecting light of Love on us, reveal our sins, so that we might change and show Your Grace and Love and make a difference in our world once again. 

 We need You Lord. We are not ashamed of the Gospel. We are not left without a Comforter. In You, there is Hope for the world. A world that needs You. You will Save us. You will deliver us. Restore us through the Holiness that You bring.

In Chapter three, the evil ideas of Haman, to have all the Jews exterminated, had been decreed by the king, and the money set aside in an account for the diabolical deeds and the date was set on the calendar for the bloodshed! That part is so incredible, that one man was given that much power. Just imagine it if you were a Jew. The date for the destruction of your entire race was set and the preparations to follow through with it were being made. Thankfully, our God is greater. Our God is able.
