Lifebreath

'Hallelujah!
Praise God in his holy house of worship,
    praise him under the open skies;
Praise him for his acts of power,
    praise him for his magnificent greatness;
Praise with a blast on the trumpet,
    praise by strumming soft strings;
Praise him with castanets and dance,
    praise him with banjo and flute;
Praise him with cymbals and a big bass drum,
    praise him with fiddles and mandolin.
Let every living, breathing creature praise God!
    Hallelujah!' Psalm 150:1-6 (MSG)

It's in the Book. So I should read it and follow it's commands. Not just any book, but the Bible. Not just any book in the Bible, but Psalms. The book!  Just take a look. Take a very long look. Who can deny it's power to inspire? Who can deny its power to transform? No one Lord.

The Psalms, a hymn book for the believers. The Psalms, the prayer book of the Bible. The Psalms, written over three thousand years ago. The Psalms, mostly written by King David. The Psalms, inspired by the Holy Spirit and quoted more than any other by our Lord and His Disciples. It's in the center and its focus is central truths we need to live. The Psalms, a book that is full of ideas about God and His government. The Psalms, a book that reaches us all no matter the stage of religion we are in or the season of our lives. The Psalms, a book of clearly defined Divine origin and inspired by the Holy Spirit.

The fitting end chapter of a great book. An image of an amazing worship service! Everyone and everything is there no less. All the instruments are blasting. Nothing was left out. Perfection on display. Perfect harmony around the Throne of Grace lifting up voices and sounding forth the praise of God most high!  And we worship Him with everything we've got for He has redeemed us and we are right to give all the honor and glory to the Redeemer. Praise ye the Lord!

Dear Father,
I am inspired to worship You when I read the Psalms. What a poetic thing of beauty You have given me. You say I am to worship You with everything that I've got. Let me start  today giving back some life breath by singing Your praises. You have done great things. You have given me Life. You have given me Hope. You have redeemed Your people. You are the Great Redeemer. And I will sing of Your Grace forever. In Jesus name. Amen.
