Jesus Has Authority Over Disease and Death
'Brothers
and sisters, we want you to be fully informed about those who have
fallen asleep in death so that you will not be overwhelmed with grief
like those who live outside of the true hope.' 1 Thessalonians 4:13 (VOICE)
Dear Father
Thank
you for Your Word. Thank you for Your messenger, Paul, who lived to
teach so that we might be fully informed and that we would not be
ignorant. You teach us in Your Word in order to perfect what is lacking
in our faith. Teach us now Lord. Show us what You would have us say.
Tell us what you would have us do. Give us the keys that unlock the door
to our faith. Open our eyes so that we might see and our ears so that
we might hear Your Truth.
Teach
us about what You would have us know about death. Are we making too
big of a deal over our family and friends when they die? I know that
Your words of Truth will bring us comfort in the realities of life. Life
is precious. Life is a gift. In the realities of life, Your Word of
Truth will show us how we are to deal emotionally with the death of
those we love.
You
say we are to grieve, but not too much as to be overwhelmed. For the
believer, for sleeping is departing and yet, death, it is not forever.
For indeed death is the end of what we know as life, but it is not the
end, it is only the beginning of an even greater existence than we could
ever imagine.
How
could we tolerate such a show for the dead as the heathens once did? We
know that Christ will return again to raise the dead and carry the
righteous with Him into heaven. Oh Glorious Day. That is the day that is
coming, when the righteous that rise will be changed and the dead will
be raised and taken to heaven with glorious, immortal, and incorruptible
bodies.
There
is our hope, that when we die in Christ, that we will all meet again in
heaven and spend eternity in complete happiness with Christ and those
that we love. Happy heavenly birthday dad. Death in this life is only a short separation. Paul
himself said that 'to live is Christ and to die is gain'! It is not to
be feared or dreaded. We hear. We understand. We thank You Lord. Amen.
And
on this Holy Day, Good Friday, we dedicate our lives to You Lord. Bless
and keep us. Hold back the darkness. May Your Face shine upon us.
Before You died You said that it is finished. You hold the keys to
disease and death. By Your stripes we are healed! What then shall we
fear? Holy Spirit, intervene and release Your Priests so that they might
rise up to face the plague and You heal the land.
In Jesus's name.
Amen.
