Destination Unknown

'Basic elemental

Instinct to survive
Stirs the higher passions
Thrill to be alive

Alternating currents
In a tidewater surge
Rational resistance
To an unwise urge
Anything can happen

From the point of conception
To the moment of truth
At the point of surrender
To the burden of proof

 From the point of ignition
To the final drive
The point of the journey
Is not to arrive
Anything can happen

Basic temperamental
Filters on our eyes
Alter our perceptions
Lenses polarize

Alternating currents
Force a show of hands
Rational responses
Force a change of plans
Anything can happen

From a point on the compass
To magnetic north
The point of the needle
Moving back and forth

From the point of entry
Until the candle is burned
The point of departure
Is not to return

Anything can happen

I set the wheels in motion
Turn up all the machines
Activate the programs
And run behind the scene

I set the clouds in motion
Turn up light and sound
Activate the window
And watch the world go round
Anything can happen'

Neil Elwood Peart, Rush, 'Prime Mover', 1987

Anything can happen, and it often does. The point of the journey is not to arrive. Let that sink in. Highlights shouldn't be the leaving part and the returning home part either. But, it often is.

From a decision last week to keep and stain a plate rack, which was meant to be an easier path compared to the removal and replacement one we had envisioned earlier, an idea emerged that lead to a plan presented by Sannah to visit all 50 states to begin that collection! Setting the clouds in motion. A destination unknown! Whoa! What a God thing. Imagine the possibilities. The irony of the amount of time that would take and what it would costs is stunning to me. And why not! I can't wait to get started. Anything can happen.

Dear Father. Thank you for family and friends. I pray for someone dealing with the loss of a close friend right now. Have Mercy. Show Grace. Give Peace. We know that death comes to us all and in You there is the hope for eternal life. So we pray that everyone that is lost finds You. We need Your strength during the good times and the bad. We keep moving.

'Stay strong in the Lord and His power and might. He is our Shield and Buckler. We are blessed with His words spoken to us in His Word. How much wiser are we all from all the exposure and wisdom we have gained in this spiritual walk.' Jan Kirkwood, January 3, 2021 text.

We pray for our brothers and sisters in the Church of Iran for they are being persecuted for Your name sake alone. We lift them up to You in our prayers!

Thank you for placing us on the difficult roads of life so that we might find beauty along the way. What a difference You have made in our own lives because You have loved us. We find You in each moment and in You there is always the potential for hope in eternal Life, Your saving Grace and Your Love to reach them with everyone that we meet. How would  they know about You unless someone tells them?

Thank you for loving us. Touch the whole world with Your love. Ignite a Holy Ghost fire! Holy Spirit set ablaze their hearts with your Love and Truth. In Jesus's name. Amen.
