Someone to Praise and Something to Sing About

Image
'O my soul, come, praise the Eternal with all that is in me—body, emotions, mind, and will—every part of who I am—praise His holy name. O my soul, come, praise the Eternal; sing a song from a grateful heart; sing and never forget all the good He has done. Despite all your many offenses, He forgives and releases you. More than any doctor, He heals your diseases. He reaches deep into the pit to deliver you from death. He crowns you with unfailing love and compassion like a king. When your soul is famished and withering, He fills you with good and beautiful things, satisfying you as long as you live. He makes you strong like an eagle, restoring your youth. When people are crushed, wronged, enslaved, raped, murdered, the Eternal is just; He makes the wrongs right. Psalm 103:1-6 (VOICE)   Even the sin of forgetfulness is forgiven. My God is a merciful God. He loves me. Do not forget this:       1. He forgives me of all of my sins,       2. He heals me of all my dise

Hymns of Praise

Image
Praise the Lord! Psalm 150:1 (EHV) No matter what I am going through, this is what He calls me to do. He is working through all things and everyone to bring about the redemption of us all! How can I ignore Him? How can I deny that He controls it all and that He is about His Father's business? So, I am to recognize Him as Lord and to thank Him for everything. I am to praise Him with my strong faith and with my Hymns and songs of praise. I am to praise Him with my devotion and love. I am to praise Him with my service. With everything that I've got, I will praise the Lord! Dear Father Thank you for Your Word. Today I praise you and pray for my children. No matter what they are going through, please fill them with Your unfailing love. Send mercy and grace. Return Joy. Build Faith. In Jesus name. Amen. Enjoy the Day

Image
'And Mary said; I’m bursting with God-news; I’m dancing the song of my Savior God. God took one good look at me, and look what happened— I’m the most fortunate woman on earth! What God has done for me will never be forgotten, the God whose very name is holy, set apart from all others. His mercy flows in wave after wave on those who are in awe before him. He bared his arm and showed his strength, scattered the bluffing braggarts. He knocked tyrants off their high horses, pulled victims out of the mud. The starving poor sat down to a banquet; the callous rich were left out in the cold. He embraced his chosen child, Israel; he remembered and piled on the mercies, piled them high. It’s exactly what he promised, beginning with Abraham and right up to now.' Luke 1:46-55 (MSG) "So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life

God Always Remembers

Image
' Dear friends, we are saying this to you, but we really expect better things from you that will lead to your salvation.  God is fair; he will not forget the work you did and the love you showed for him by helping his people. And he will remember that you are still helping them.  We want each of you to go on with the same hard work all your lives so you will surely get what you hope for.  We do not want you to become lazy. Be like those who through faith and patience will receive what God has promised.' Hebrews 6:9-12 (NCV) So, here it is, a hope for eternal life with a promise. We want that you get what you hope for, and even better things, so show God's love by helping his people. He will not forget the work that you did. He is fair and will always remember the love that you showed for him. God always remembers, it is part of His nature. In His remembering your acts of grace you can rest assured that He will make sure that you will be rewarded with even

My Earnest Prayer of Faith

Image
'You have recorded my troubles.     You have kept a list of my tears.         Aren’t they in your records?' Psalm 56:8 (NCV)   Through this study in Hebrews we were asked to recall the spiritual burdens that we cared enough about to offer to God in prayers and supplications with tears. My immediate response was to recall those prayers for my own family's salvation, of course. I prayed for them and have cried so many tears for them all. Then I was reminded of a few of the situations that I found myself in that hurt so badly that I could not even find the words to pray. So I cried. And I know that God always hears those prayers and comforts me through the pain because He cares. It is comforting to know that God cares enough about me to keep a hand written record of all the troubles that I have been through and all of the times that I have cried. He loves me that much. Maybe even more so, the little children. This lesson has touched me so deeply and brought ou

Drum Beat of Praise

Image
'The musicians were playing loudly and the singers were singing. Jezrahiah led them, and together the sounds filled the city. Everyone was rejoicing and making sacrifices to God in their great joy—even the women and children got involved. Far outside Jerusalem the noise from our celebration could be heard.' Nehemiah 12:42-43 (VOICE)   Another cause for celebration - the wall! Brick by brick, Nehemiah had been faithful to see that it was completed even to the end and now... who was he giving credit to? He would not take the credit for all that was done for himself but turned the people's attention to none other than God. God, the Giver of all things Great. And this was a great day. It was a day in history when a nation was restored and her people were feeling safe and protected from her enemies again. It was a day and a cause for a national celebration, even the women and children got involved. There she was leading the worship with her drum beat of praise. O

No Lies Behind These Smiling Faces

Image
'A joyful heart makes a cheerful face, But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken.' Proverbs 15:13 'And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;' Ephesians 5:18-19 (NASB)     Isn't it the truth? We all know the guy. I seek him out when I need an emotional boost because I can depend on him to brighten my day. He seems to have found the key to happiness and it shows up a lot in the things that he says and the countenance on his face. He is always smiling! How does he do that? I've got to figure out what makes him so happy. He is dancing and singing his way through life and where ever he is and whenever he is in the room it is contagious. His mood is a mood lifter in others and it is quite remarkable.   No matter the circumstance, no matter where we are it's always the same with hi

Make Room For Me

Image
' As they were walking along, someone said to Jesus, “I will follow you wherever you go.” But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.” He said to another person, “Come, follow me.” The man agreed, but he said, “Lord, first let me return home and bury my father.” But Jesus told him, “Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead! Your duty is to go and preach about the Kingdom of God.”   Another said, “Yes, Lord, I will follow you, but first let me say good-bye to my family.” But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” Luke 9:57-62 (NLT) The call to discipleship is a life changing thing with many exciting and challenging twists and turns and my first thoughts when I am called to it should always be whether I have what it takes to do what I need to do. In case you don't know, delivering the Good News will cost you som

The Secret Place of Prayer

Image
' But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.' Matthew 6:6 (NASB) Here it is, the proper way to pray. So for the Christian it is to be when and not if we pray. Would a Christian even be worthy of the name if they never took the time to even speak to the person that they bear the name of? Forgive me Lord, if I failed You in that area before. I know better now. I know that I must talk to You Father, and I do that quite frequently. Praying should be like breathing. Praying is where I find You. Praying is where I find Your Grace. Your Grace is where my joy comes from. If I am to find all that there is in life for me, and You are the Giver of Life, I must first find the way to get to know You better. Why then, is talking to You such a battle? Finding the time has not been easy and even then, not being distracted by every little thing

The Power of Desperation

Image
'God is our protection and our strength.   He always helps in times of trouble.   So we will not be afraid even if the earth shakes,   or the mountains fall into the sea,   even if the oceans roar and foam, or the mountains shake at the raging sea. Selah'  Psalm 46:1-3 (NCV) In God's perfect will, the fear and the trembling that I once knew becomes trust and hope that He will turn the trials of my life into something good for His Glory. He provides. His Holy Spirit flows through my circumstances with grace and He consoles me. With God in my heart, I shall not be moved. I shall be helped and I shall trust in Him and I shall not fear. So my morning prayer for today might be: God, You are my protection and strength. You always help me in times of trouble. So I will not be afraid even if the financial crisis comes due to the recent floods; as my customers struggle to make it, as the dams have broken and fields lay under water, as the bills come due and there

The Perfect Plummet Stone

Image
'Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem,   a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken. I will test you with the measuring line of justice   and the plumb line of righteousness. Since your refuge is made of lies,   a hailstorm will knock it down. Since it is made of deception,   a flood will sweep it away.' Isaiah 28:16-17 (NLT) 'But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.” ' Timothy 2:19 (NLT) When in times of need, it never hurts to look to Christ for the answer. He promised to provide for all that we need. Why not look to Him? He was sent to die for all mankind and to be the foundation stone chosen by God for the Church and the cornerstone in which His Church was build upon. He was and is ri

Sailing Safely Through the Storms

Image
One day Jesus got into a boat with his disciples and told them, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” So they set out.   As they were sailing, he fell asleep. A powerful windstorm came down on the lake, the boat was filling up with water, and they were in danger.   They went to him and woke him, saying, “Master, master, we’re going to die!” He woke up, rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they stopped. Then it was calm.   He said to them, “Where is your faith?” They were afraid and amazed and said to one another, “Who, then, is this, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?”' Luke 8:22-25 (EHV) He comforts me through the trials of life that most certainly will come. I can rest during the storms because I know that He loves me. He is my strength and my shield. Jesus even has control over the wind. As long as He is with me, I can launch my boat out into new mission fields knowing that no matter what happens between first da

The Godly Craftsman

Image
'Eternal One: Look, I have a special calling upon one of the sons of Judah. His name is Bezalel (the son of Uri, son of Hur).  I have filled him with God’s Spirit, gifted him with wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and skills with a variety of crafts.  He is an expert designer and works well with gold, silver, and bronze  He is able to cut and set gems, work with wood, and skillfully perform any craft needed to help construct the congregation tent and its furnishings .  I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan to assist Bezalel . I have gifted all of Israel’s artisans with the skills needed to build everything I have instructed you.' Exodus 31:1-6 (VOIC E) They were trained in Egypt to be masons and brick layers until God called them curiously enough to become craftsmen and designers. Wow! What a stretch. From a slave mentality group think nation to a completely independent and sovereign group of problem solving architects, being made ready by

Removing the Veil

Image
'And now we are brothers and sisters in God’s family because of the blood of Jesus, and he welcomes us to come right into the most holy sanctuary in the heavenly realm—boldly and with no hesitation. For he has dedicated a new, life-giving way for us to approach God. For just as the veil was torn in two, Jesus’ body was torn open to give us free and fresh access to him!   And since we now have a magnificent King-Priest to welcome us into God’s house, we come closer to God and approach him with an open heart, fully convinced by faith that nothing will keep us at a distance from him. For our hearts have been sprinkled with blood to remove impurity and we have been freed from an accusing conscience and now we are clean, unstained, and presentable to God inside and out!' Hebrews 10:19-22 (TPT) I am so thankful for what Jesus did for me! He died and because of His death the temple veil was ripped from top to bottom! No more animal sin sacrifice. Jesus is the new li

They Came, They Heard, They Responded

Image
'When they heard this they were crushed and realized what they had done to Jesus. Deeply moved, they said to Peter and the other apostles, “What do we need to do, brothers?”   Peter replied, “Repent and return to God, and each one of you must be baptized in the name of Jesus, the Anointed One, to have your sins removed. Then you may take hold of the gift of th e Holy Spirit. For God’s promise of the Holy Spirit is for you and your families, for those yet to be born and for everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” Peter preached to them and warned them with these words: “Be rescued from the wayward and perverse culture of this world!” Those who believed the word that day numbered three thousand. They were all baptized and added to the church.' Acts 2:37-41 (TPT) They came to find out what all that noise was about. They heard the message preached in their own language. They responded to it and were deeply moved to ask 'what do we need to do?'

The Happy Life

Image
' Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.   After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.' 1 Timothy 6:6-7 (NLT) But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.' 1 Timothy 6:11 (NLT) For you, men or women of God, don't make the mistake that many do, don't reach for worldly riches, but rather, seek instead riches in the eternal things of true value; righteousness, godliness, faith etc. Pursue the happy life. To me, godliness is the great wealth and contentment that I seek. And to be content is to have all that I need. To pursue righteousness is to give me purpose and to fulfill my desires for more and brings with it so much increase. To continue to gain. To be constantly thriving.   Possessing the riches of Grace.  Self-sufficiency. No t

Your Prophetic Sons and Daughtes

Image
'Then in those days I will pour My Spirit to all humanity; your children will boldly and prophetically speak the word of God. Your elders will dream dreams; your young warriors will see visions. No one will be left out. In those days I will offer My spirit to all servants, both male and female. In the heaven above and on the earth below, I will give signs of My intervention: blood, fire, and clouds of smoke. The sun will become a void of darkness, and the moon will become blood just before the great and dreadful day of the Eternal One arrives. Then everyone who calls on the name of the Eternal One will be liberated. Mount Zion and Jerusalem will shelter those who survive exile, Just as the Eternal says, “Among those who survived, He will call them.” Joel 2:28-31 (VOICE) ‘This is what I will do in the last days—I will pour out my Spirit on everybody and cause your sons and daughters to prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old m
