When Unbelievable is Believable

'I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.' John 5:43 (ESV)

'Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation, and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.' Revelation 13:7-8 (ESV)

What if Jesus is who He said He was? He said He was speaking by authority of His Father, God. What if He was telling the truth? That makes Him God. He said He was Truth. What if He is God? He said that He had been with the Father. He never lied before. With everything that He said and everything that He did, how could He have been just a mere man? Spirit meets reason. He was so believable. He healed and He delivered. He was given supernatural power. He gave it all and He did it for us to have life and He was still rejected by the religious leaders of that day who were looking for the Messiah.

The religious leaders of Jesus's day were looking for the Messiah, just not Jesus's version of him. Jesus came as the sympathetic peacemaker and this was nothing like the king some men in power wanted in order to get their political and spiritual demands met.  They were searching for someone like Solomon.  Someone like them. Someone that comes in his own name, merely a man, merely a name, with no Holy Spirit power lifting and supporting. No power to improve and to make new. Reason meets flesh. Give me more power they might cry. Give me more riches they might declare. Give me more worldliness and fame they might demand. Jesus exposed the worst in those corrupt religious fanatical leaders by promising to deliver to them none of those things, and they showed just how cruel they could be to one of their own. 'Crucify him!' And they did!

And how could it be that the people of this world would reject Truth and try to destroy it and everything good and follow a lie? Sin. It seems so unbelievable. If Jesus is God then those that reject Him are murderers, liars and thieves.  All the same traits as their father the devil, who never sleeps and desires to war with the Saints and to conquer them. This is not a good reflection on humanity. This is good vs evil. Perhaps if we desire evil then it's not truth that we are seeking. The fact that some would turn from the Light that exposes the darkness is so unbelievable and may expose those seeking darkness for who they are and what they are willing to do in order to keep their sins hidden.

We all have it within us to sin. We all have it within us to receive Jesus as Savior or to reject Him. His Gospel is Peace and His Gift is Love. The rejection of that Gospel comes for many reasons. We reject the One that loves us out of fear perhaps. We reject Jesus for reasons of anger and greed. We reject Him because of our filthy lust for power and fame. We might look at goodness as a sign of weakness, but know that the weak are made strong in Christ. He had no fear of his enemies. All reasons to reject Christ are flaws of character. We could be better. Flesh meets Truth. We could turn to Jesus. Sadly, many are deceived and refuse Him and turn from the peace that He offers to the chaos of the world because of pride and what the world has to offer.

Pride of life. The world deceives. It promises us that we can have it all and that we might receive some temporal earthly benefit, by rejecting the eternal heavenly one. The desire for power and to have it all comes at a cost, it may cost us our life by making us an enemy of the Prophet and King Jesus. His enemies worship and work for the Beast, who never delivers what he promises but only deceives and demands your soul while taking you straight to the fires of hell in the process.

To the one who has not decided yet, the choice is yours. Choose wisely. Choose Christ. What have you got to lose? The end of this world is coming soon. A new world order of peace and love is on its way and will replace this one, and Jesus will be King over all! Amen.

Dear Father. Thank you for sending Your Son Jesus to change the world for the better and offer us life and hope and salvation. I pray for wisdom and discernment. I pray that the plans of the enemy to deceive are confounded and rejected. Hold him back Lord! We believe in You. We receive You. I pray for those that have not decided whom they will follow. I pray that everyone will receive Jesus as their Savior. Save them all Lord.

We pray for this forty-third day before the election. May those that you choose be placed into the offices that you see fit. Put men and women of integrity who's names have been written in the Book of Life in places of authority to change the world for the better. Inspire them to turn back the laws that legalize sin. Give them hearts to serve and to put others welfare above their own and minds to keep them out of the overreaching affairs that corrupted so many who have gone before them. Remove politics from our Judicial System! Turn the unbelievable into the believable once again as only You can. Thank you for our peace loving President. Give us another day to see it and behold Your Glory! Hold back evil for Your Name's Sake.

In Jesus' name.

 Amen.
