Prophesy and Praise, Too
'For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings. For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying,
“I will proclaim Your name to My brethren,
In the midst of the congregation I will sing Your praise.” (Psalm 22:22)
And again,
“I will put My trust in Him.” (Isaiah 8:17)
And again,
“Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.” (Isaiah 8:18) Hebrews 2:10-13 (NASB)
The Psalmist prophesied of the coming of the Messiah and the New
Testament revealed how God was able to bring many sons and daughters to
glory through His suffering. Christ was perfected through His death and
Glorified through His resurrection and He lives to sanctify those who
are sanctified. Nor is He ashamed to call us brothers and sisters.
Jesus calls Himself one of us when we meet Him there. How very
important is our praise to Heavenly Father. We've got to welcome Him
there. Notice the purpose of it. Jesus Himself joins in the song of
praise. Praise therefore then, releases the spirit of prophetic
revelation. How much more a song sung in the Spirit?
When I
praise You, God, Christ Himself comes to fill my mind with thoughts of
Your glorious name. You are magnified by and through Your Son. The
entire congregation is edified through Your praise. There You are Lord
in the midst. Singing and glorifying God with the children that He has
given thee.
Lord, when I sing praises to God I know that You
are there. You are always welcome. You call me sister. I've seen Your
face. I've heard Your voice. I've felt your presence. You call me
daughter. I know You and I need to hear another prophetic word of
encouragement from You. You say 'put your trust in God'. I will put my
trust in Him! My exhortations of praise bring comfort to my mind, body
and soul as I am filled with Your Glory.
Thank You Lord for
Your mighty Presence. Thank you for Your Word. Fill Your House with
praise. As we gather to praise You, the whole House is filled with Your
Glory and we, the congregation are blessed.
