Love Like You Mean It

' Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant  or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.' 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 (ESV)

Do you know Christ? Do you have the Love of Christ in you? Here is a Biblical test for believers that know the benefits of Christian living are many and they are beautiful. Christ gives us many examples of charity and we can know if we have His Grace by how well we match up with these verses. When we compare our lives to these love verses and if we find that we do not meet this criteria of a Christian then we should go after love with everything that we've got and learn to love like we mean it. Following these would mean Christ was living inside us and that would mean a better world to live in.

For to be in Christ is to know Love. God is Love. Love is patient and love is kind. Love does not push his way to the front nor is love cruel to anyone. True love shows happiness at the good fortune of others and there is no envy in love. Love is humble about his own accomplishments and does not boast. Love places others before himself and is not arrogant or rude but goes about his daily tasks making things beautiful and leaving things better than he found them without expectation of reward or compensation. Love does not demand or insist on his own way. Love is cheerful and forgiving and there is no irritability or resentment in him at all. Love shuns evil and does not rejoice at wrongdoing. Love seeks truth in love. Love carries its own weight and is responsible for himself. Love believes, hopes and endures all things even unto the end.

Love never ends. Love like you mean it! God the Father is Love.

Dear Father

Thank you for your Word. You encouraged me this morning. I present this devotional to you as an offering. I seek to be a 1 Corinthians 13 wife, mother and friend.Thank you for the example that you have given to me in Christ. Thank you for adopting me into Your Royal Family. Thank you for Holy Spirit that directs me to the Truths that I need for the day. In this, I know that I am loved and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you for showing me. Thank you for filling me. And because of the life and death of your Son Jesus, I am Yours and You are my beloved.

This forty-second day before the election I pray for our leaders and their families. I lift up the families of our political leaders to you today Lord and ask for special blessings on their lives. Forgive them when they fail You. Keep them always supportive and dedicated. Help them to stay committed. They sacrifice so much for us. Give them strength. Grant them wisdom. Give them energy to keep pushing on. Give them faith in You and a heart for You today. Keep them true to their convictions. Fill them with Your love. Keep them together in bonds of love. Renew the wonders of marriage. Remind me to not take them for granted, but to let them know that I appreciate them for giving their public servant fathers and mothers, sons and daughters to us. Place your hand of prosperity on them and keep them protected and safe.

In Jesus' name.

Amen.
