Caring for the Baptistry
'Now
go in my authority and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.' Matthew 28:19
(TPT)
Matthew,
who lived with Jesus for three years, was an Apostle and a Disciple of
Christ, a former tax collector turned Saint and also known as one of the
four Evangelists and therefore had a first hand account of Christ.
Which he wasn't afraid to give. This is what he heard the Lord say.
Dear Father
Thank
you for Your Word. Your Word is Alive. Your Word convicts and leads to
salvation and changed lives. We need to know You more so get a hold of
us now. Change us to be more like you.
Thank you that we have
the Disciples and the Apostles very own first hand accounts so that we
can know You better. They were there. They were witnesses and they lived
through it all. Some of them even wrote about their account of the
events from start to finish on what they saw and what they thought we
needed to know. Knowledge through You is power to help us get by.
Information from You is key to help us get through. Instructions serve
as a guide to us and tell us what we need to do to live.
This most important piece of eternal instructive information comes from the tax collector. You sent him out. You told him to 'go'. He says that You said we are to 'go'. We have our direct marching orders from You Lord. We are Your army and we are to go and make disciples of all nations by baptizing them! That's what You did when You submitted to John for baptism and that is what You taught when You told us that we had to be born again of water and of the spirit to enter heaven. You are Holy. But first, a Spiritual cleansing of the heart and a new life is in order and must occur. We've looked at some things that we shouldn't have seen and we need to clean up our mouths.
The plague that has reached our shores will soon enough be dealt with
by You and those who serve You and we need to remember who let it in and
who kicked it out. It was You Lord. The god-less will soon enough see
and have the fear of God handed to them when the strong man is defeated.
The open borders will soon enough be closed when their own believer's
houses fall. We have failed You God. None of us are without sin. You
gave us a way to be clean. You ask, why do you tolerate it? You said we
were to be baptized, and we remember our own baptism and apply the blood
of Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins to our lives and situations.
Clean
the whole House with Holy Ghost disinfectant. Be baptized in Christ and
be baptized in His death. Clean the house. Be baptized and believe
Jesus is the Son of God and you will be saved. Clean the garage. Be
baptized and believe and your sins will be forgiven. Clean the yard. Be
baptized and be born again or you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven.
Clean the places of business. Be baptized for that is where the blood of
Christ is applied for the forgiveness of sins.
What have we failed to do? Nothing Lord! Have we all been baptized? Yes we are clean and we even cleaned and sanitized the baptistry. Have we received the Sacraments? Yes, every week Lord. Do we observe the Holy Day and do we do the other things that You require us to do? Yes, our Altars are built for You. We are named after You and likewise we should share in your character. Here is our readiness test. We are in our towers of influence and we are praying.
As
we seek You and pray, we see ourselves as the night shift cleaning
crew. Our washing machines are set for heavy duty cycle. It's been wash,
rinse, spin, repeat all week. We weren't ready before, and we neglected
a few things, but You gave us a second chance and turned on the Light.
We repent and thank You that it's not too late. Get ready. Be ready.
Stay ready. Then go. We go out in Your name and deal with sin's filth
and You make everything new again. We are to go out and be more than
conquerors and bring people to You so that You might wash them clean and
save them.
That's
a tall order. That's a call for missions. Nothing else matters. That's
what was done then and is being done today, it's a new day with the Holy
Spirit as our helper and our guide. We honor You Lord. We worship You
with our praise. Amen.
In Jesus's name
Amen
