Up is Down Times

‘What sorrow for those who say

that evil is good and good is evil,

that dark is light and light is dark,

that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.’ Isaiah 5:20.

The Word of God really is like a light unto my feet, it illuminates my thoughts, it justifies my behaviors. The Word of God is good.

The Word of God is good because it reveals the Truth. God is Truth. God warns those that light up the darkness in order to rebel against Him. Darkness is sin. And in darkness sin is used to cover up sin. Lies are told to justify the ungodly; bitter is sweet, dark is light, up is down. Woe to those that condone and therefore justify sin. God will deal with them justly. God is Holy. Justice will be served.

And don't we see it being played out on the intellectual side? Being smart in the ways of the world might gain you some position of power and some stuff, but worldliness is lacking in righteousness and it will never prevail. There is nothing wrong with having nice things, but it is prudent to know when enough is enough. That is why God calls for balance in our spiritual and physical lives. He says to choose between faith and money. He looks out for us to protect us. He tells us the Truth. Eternity is real. Life. Death. Judgment. We get to choose where we will spend it. That is why we are to turn and run from evil. That is why we are called to pray and listen for His voice.

There are sins of omission and sins of commission. There is a perverting and confounding sin. In religion, it prefers fake doctrines to the truth. In life, those caught up in it, choose the evil rather than the upright course of action. In power, they mean to destroy and to deceive as many as they can take with them. Take the way that seems right to most, and watch them bring down condemnation on it. They are contemptible toward the righteous in all their ways. They do not place their trust in God. They not only feel more comfortable with the criminal, but the prideful, the glutton, the boastful, and the drunkard as well.

The Prophet says woe to them. Pray for them. Pray with them. Pray that their sins and the demons behind them be exposed, revealed, dealt with and brought out into the cleansing Light of Life.

Dear Father

Thank you for Your Word of Truth. Forgive us when we have sinned against thee. Please reveal to us the sins so that we might pray for the sinners. Expose their evil deeds. Bring them down from their positions of power. Take down the deceiver. Deliver them from their tormenting demons.  We pray for Justice. Awaken us. Restore righteousness and all that the enemy has stolen. Restore good. Restore light. Restore sweet. Save us Lord. You created us. You deserve our thanks. You deserve our praise. We honor You with our prayer.

In Jesus' name.

Amen.
