Stay Out or Be Locked Up

'“I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away.  They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.  And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me.  But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told them to you. I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you.' John 16:1-4 (ESV)

Dear Father

Protect our hearts during times of trouble. Speak to us from Your Word of Hope. Help us to remain silent when our hearts are broken for You and we are tempted to tell them we are finished. We are done. There is no chance of reconciliation. We will never speak to them again. There are limits Lord. There are points in the chain when we have to protect our own selves first. This is it Lord. In darkness there is a fear and a temptation and that brings with it the falling away. Help us to know you better. Shine your everlasting light on us so that we might be able to see and not stumble.

This thirty-ninth day before the election we pray for clarity. Bind the works of the enemy that deceives. Thank you for giving us a word of warning. We knew the day was coming Lord. Some believers may lose their lives because of Your Name. Some are told to stay out of the church or be locked up! They knew that following you in a pagan world would bring blessings with the trials. Special crowns await those saints and will be placed upon their heads. Keep those that belong to you from falling away. Those overcomers are such an inspiration. Send a strong dose of your Holy Spirit and touch all hearts with the Love of Christ. Justice to the poor and abused. Heal your nation. Heal your people. Set them free.

In Jesus' name.

Amen.
