She Inquired of the Lord
'“But what did he do?” they asked. “How did he heal you?”' John 9:26 NLT
How
excited I get when I read God's Word. The entire 9th chapter of John is
so amazing. The chapter tells of how Jesus heals a man born blind. This
young man was blessed with a miracle healing, and then you immediately see the
religious leaders of the day, trying to discredit the miracle, trying to
trip up the young man, trying to catch Jesus in some kind of magic or
breaking sabbath laws. To be expected. But why?
Simply
put.
Why can't we accept God's Grace and rejoice with those that are healed?
Why do we have to know every detail, and try to figure out the exact
steps or maybe the lack thereof? Here we are at the crossroads between
the
spirit and the flesh. The flesh, always looking away from God and to
expose the negative, the Spirit only working with Jesus and bringing us
closer
to Him.
But
what did he do? The specifics please. Inquiring minds need to know. Can
we get you to change your story? Maybe we can even find proof that Jesus is a
fraud.
How
did he heal you? The exact process, that you claim you are healed. That
you claim Jesus healed you. Of course, it doesn't really matter what
you say. We will hear what we want to hear. The facts are all suspect
from what we want to see
and what we need to believe.
It's
good to ask questions. I have lots of them, but what I need too know
right now is
Truth. He never holds back answers from me. I want to see Jesus in
everything. What the world has to offer doesn't interest me anymore.
I've learned that life is too short to give even a moment of my time to
believing a lie. Give me more of what Jesus brings. Every day. Every
breath. Even Life. Oh, to be more
like Joshua and Caleb.
For, of the twelve scouts that were sent out to explore Canaan, the promised land, and after forty days only two, Joshua and Caleb, came back with a positive report. 'Let us go up at once and take possession for we are well able to overcome it.' Numbers 13:30. No one listened. God punished them all for it by making them wait forty years. Faith is a choice. God rewards those with a spirit of faith with many promises. We are to stand for God even when others don't. When we do He will bless us.
Dear Father
Thank
you for Your Word that heals. Thank you for the measure of Faith that
You have given to me. Thank you for the Bible Stories that teach and
encourage. Thank you for the Bible Truths that speak for themselves.
Thank you for Holy Spirit power and for Your Son Jesus who saves. Thank
you for new beginnings, family, birthdays, children and grand children. Thank
you for the Hope that is within me. We love You Lord. On this day, the
Sabbath, I choose to stand for You, me and my entire family.
In Jesus' name.
Amen.
