Hold Fast

Image
' Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground.' Acts 7:33 (NLT) Nowhere. No place can I go. Absolutely! Nowhere can I hide. Nowhere can I go that I am out of His reach. Nowhere can I go that I am out of His Holy presence. Nowhere can I go that I am out of the presence of God. Take your shoes off! Put off your shoes in an act of reverence. It's a custom in the East. It's a Holy place. It's the place of Divinity. It's a place, or a sanctuary. It's a place to have Hope and to Believe. It's where He manifests His presence. God is everywhere. Hold fast! He is there, in the burning bush. He is there, at the foot of the Cross. He is there sitting on the Throne of God, among the heavenly host and choir of angels. He is there, at the foot of the hospital bed where another is lying sick. He is there at the altar where we see one finding Him and the salvation that He brings. The Father, the Son and th...

The Lord Speaks

Image
'But the Lord said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”   Elijah replied, “I have zealously served the Lord God Almighty. But the people of Israel have broken their covenant with you, torn down your altars, and killed every one of your prophets. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.” Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.   And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper.   When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And a voice said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”' 1 Kings 19:11-13 (NL...

Mary Visits Elizabeth

Image
' A few days later Mary hurried to the hill country of Judea, to the town where Zechariah lived. She entered the house and greeted Elizabeth.' Luke 1:39-40 (NLT) Whenever you've got it and you know that you do, it's just too hard to contain it. That is why it is so important for women who have been filled with the Holy Ghost to communicate with one another on a regular basis. Think of the possibilities. Think of the sharing and the caring that would go on. Think of the potential ministries that would be developed and birthed. Sinners, yet under grace and saved! That's reason to rejoice. That's cause to celebrate! That's just what these two women did.  Rejoice! Many months of moments filled with laughter. Many discussions about their concerns for one another and their future. Many times that they shared their most intimate and deepest thoughts with one another. Praying and singing. Praising and worshiping. Hoping and caring. Trusting and beli...

Pure as the Driven Snow

Image
'C ome close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.' James 4:8 (NLT) Do something today that you will thank yourself for later.  I will draw near to You Lord, in faith, in repentance, in returning and in prayer. No regrets to be found in doing those things as once I find myself doing them, for God has given me the desires to do them, then God will manifest His glorious presence and His favor will shine upon me. His grace will be given to me and I will find my strength to endure which comes from Him. God is Good. For it is all found in Christ. He is the reason that I am able to be made clean. It was God's Work and through Christ's blood that I have been cleansed and He alone has redeemed me from my sins. Save me from myself Lord. Make Your temple in my heart. Make me pure as the driven snow. For it is with pure heart and clean hands that I can ...

Marching to Keep the Pace

Image
' As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.' Genesis 8:22 (NLT God's promises are true and that we can believe. We are God's covenant people. What He has said He also will do. For He is Truth and my God cannot lie. So it goes from the beginning, and so it will be until the end. As long as the earth remains, God will provide. God will cause time and seasons to go on. The order of things has been established for all things created during the six days, but then comes the seventh. Even the higher order of things has been seen and will be established when limits are reached and man is filled up. So, we set the pace to a steady march, with drums blazing, and we head out the door. Head down. White. White. Everything is white. So, on this day we prepare to meet the elements. Hat, coat, gloves and more! The wind that faces us is fierce. The earth beneath our feet is treacherous. Yet, we f...

Singing the Faith

Image
' Well then, what shall I do? I will pray in the spirit, and I will also pray in words I understand. I will sing in the spirit, and I will also sing in words I understand.' 1 Corinthians 14:15 (NLT) Go to church. Become a member. Find your way back and ascend. On this Rock, the gates of hell will not prevail against it. On our way we find the doors and the windows open. Come inside they say. You are welcome here they greet and with a hug and a hand shake! The people are kind and friendly in God's House. Lovely souls really. Heads full of wisdom and knowledge. Hearts full of unity and love. Pews full of the Family. Words are given in the Spirit with interpretation. All is done for edification and understanding comes from within. So welcome they will make you feel. And then you see it there, the Bible which is the Word of God and the Hymnal, right beside. Those of the Faith, you will soon find that they are a singing people. It is a singing faith. For the pi...

In All Things Be Prosperous

Image
' Honor the Lord with your wealth      and with the best part of everything you produce.     Then he will fill your barns with grain,      and your vats will overflow with good wine.' Proverbs 3:9-10 (NLT) I am to give back the first fruits of what God has blessed me with in the first place. So in my willingness to obey Him in this I honor God in giving him the first and the best of everything that He has given to me. Likewise, it is not to be the meager portion, no rather to make my gifts extravagant! Not the miserly mindset, no rather to give it joyfully and make it generous. Not the merest amount, no rather to make my tithe the most!   I would be wise to do it and not hold back or rob God. Slack leads to lack. I would be generous to follow in this way as God is generous to me. He always takes care of all my needs. He owns it all. I find that this is the way to prosperity. I give to be a blessing, it is most ple...

The Unforgettable

Image
'Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”' John 6:29 (NLT) To some lost in their sins, Jesus just doesn't suit their tastes. His gospel of peace is too much for them to take. He demands the unthinkable. They may have followed Him for awhile but soon enough became bitter and walked away. They doubted what He said, they denied what He did, they did not believe for a second what their own eyes saw and their ears heard and their hearts felt.  So they turned and walked away in unbelief. They missed the opportunity of a lifetime and the only work that God wants from us. They refused to believe that Jesus was who He said He was. The Savior of the world! The very Son of God! In their unbelief they were forever undone.  The half-baked. The unsaved. The unbeliever is doomed to fail. Because of the sins of Adam, we know that the unbeliever is under the curse of the Law and will die in their sins. Eternal hell awaits ...

Wonderful Wondering

Image
' Wake, awake, Deborah! ⎣Wake up the multitudes of the people.⎦ Wake, awake, sing a song. Rise up, Barak! ⎣Deborah, strengthen Barak.⎦ Lead away your captives, son of Abinoam.' Judges 5:12 (EHV) It's a sleepy place. It's a place of rest. Yes. During times of peace, but this is war! Get up! The lake. It's the place where I go to relax and to think. I find myself in thought so often there. I find myself thinking back to the days of my youth, back when I first received my own calling. Rise and write! Even while most sleep. Even while the moon is still visible in the early morning sky. Even then. Silver hair. Coming and going. Still. God speaks. We listen. Promises are made and promises are kept. Stay positive. There will be victory. In Deborah's case hers was to prophesy, to encourage and to lead a great army. After the battle there wasn't an enemy soldier left standing! Wow! Who could even imagine that? Who would fight another battle without taking ...

The Consolator

Image
God , investigate my life;      get all the facts firsthand. I’m an open book to you;      even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking. You know when I leave and when I get back;      I’m never out of your sight. You know everything I’m going to say      before I start the first sentence. I look behind me and you’re there,      then up ahead and you’re there, too—      your reassuring presence, coming and going. This is too much, too wonderful—      I can’t take it all in!' Psalm 139:1-6 (MSG) 'This is God ’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. “When you call on me, when you come ...

True Ways

Image
' Saul, also known as Paul, was filled with the Holy Spirit, and he looked the sorcerer in the eye.   Then he said, “You son of the devil, full of every sort of deceit and fraud, and enemy of all that is good! Will you never stop perverting the true ways of the Lord?' Acts 13:9-10 (NLT) ' Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.   It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret.' Ephesians 5:11-12 (NLT) ' Don’t you realize that someday we believers will judge the world? And since you are going to judge the world, can’t you decide even these little things among yourselves?' 1 Corinthians 6:2 (NLT) His name, His name is victory! There is victory in Jesus. When His Name is used there is power. His name means ' God is Salvation'.  Through Him, there is this 'Power in the Blood' over the enemy. Paul's name was changed from the Hebrew name Saul to the Gentile n...

Anastasis

Image
'But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.”' Luke 10:20 (NLT) ' Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.   Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”John 11:25-26 (NLT) Resist the temptation of pride for all the victories over the enemy. Pride goes before destruction. a haughty spirit before a fall. For doesn't God resist the proud and shows favor to the humble? In this, I am encouraged to find joy in what is proper, with fear and trembling, and that is the fact that my name is written in the Lamb's book of life and not that I have discovered the mighty power that I now possess in His name.  Rejoice. For a life well lived is God's Will. Rejoice. For a life not wasted, but rather, lived for God's Glory blesses God. Rejoice. For a life that blesses God lasts and it is...

More Prayers

Image
'And when the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures saw the Lamb had taken the scroll, they fell facedown at the feet of the Lamb and worshiped him. Each of them had a harp and golden bowls brimming full of sweet fragrant incense—which are the prayers of God’s holy lovers.' Revelation 5:8 (TPT) This is such a powerful symbolic visual of heaven that every intercessor should know. Consider the scene around the Throne of the elders, creatures and the Lamb . This image is awe inspiring enough, but then you read the rest of John's vision and are encouraged by it. Everyone is holding a harp and is worshiping the Lamb. Facedown worship. Facedown worship in heaven to the Lamb that was found worthy. The worship that includes the harp and the golden bowls. The golden bowls of intercessory prayers are being offered up by God's holy lovers. The worship and the prayers go together. Just imagine that we are the worshiping intercessors, ascending to ...

Pray for Peace

Image
'Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.' Philippians 4:9 (NLT) ' “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.' John 14:27 (NLT) 'Don’t be afraid, for I am with you, Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.   I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.' Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) ' “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.' John 3:16 (NLT) ' Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.' 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 ((NLT) Source: 'Drummingthemessagehome', December 9, 2019 reposted.    Comments

Welcome Home

Image
'The Lord cares deeply      when his loved ones die.' Psalm 116:15 (NLT) God cares for me and I am one of His children. I was born into His House. I am one of His daughters. I receive benefits from Him because He is my Father. My Father is good to me. Because He cares for His children He sent His very own Son, Jesus to live and to die for me that I might be saved and redeemed to Himself. God cares for me and I am one of His servants. I serve Him during both the good times and bad. My service to Him is a sacrifice and He is pleased by it. I give thanks to Him through it all. Because He cares for His servants, He sent His Holy Spirit to be a comforter, helper and a guide to me. God cares for me and I am one of His saints. As the Saints of God often do, I live in a way that is pleasing to Him.  He is not a god that is distant. He is the God that is near and He cares for me. Because He cares for His saints, He has made me a co-heir with His Son....

At That Very Hour

Image
'“Now my soul is deeply troubled. Should I pray, ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But this is the very reason I came!   Father, bring glory to your name.” Then a voice spoke from heaven, saying, “I have already brought glory to my name, and I will do so again.”' John 12:27-28 (NLT) God, there is this problem that is before me. Of course, I don't need to tell You about it, because You have put it there, and even did so for Your own Son! The storms of life are real. The storms of life are many. That I cannot deny. The storms of life are troubling. In them, I might find myself saying, oh Lord, why me? I might even pray, 'help me Lord'. 'Keep me safe'! At the darkest point in the current trouble that I find myself in, I find myself vulnerable, for there is my old friend fear and my desire to retreat. At that very hour, I might fail to see You in it. I might ask You to take me out of it. Yet there You are! How could I let myself get so worked up?...

Behold Your Deliverance

Image
'For I am about to do something new      See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness.      I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.'  Isaiah 43:19 (NLT) The end to another decade is upon us, and thus the completion is at hand. Soon enough we will see a new thing, that in which we have not seen before, but still, that in which God has already begun. The plans were already made. The path has been determined, yet it is not apparent to me now, it soon enough will be. New things. Never before seen things. God will make a way. Water. I must go through the waters of uncharted territory, and yet, He has been there and has already planted the seeds in which my harvest will grow. What an amazing harvest that will be. Even in the wilderness, an oasis it will seem like to me. Enough. More than enough energy. Productivity. In abundance. Activity. Ever increasing.  There will b...

' “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either. '  Matthew 23:13 (NLT) Here begins, the first of the seven or eight 'woes' that Christ pronounces on His enemies as described by Matthew in the twenty-third chapter.  Hypocrites! Like men with masks, that's how Jesus describes the Pharisees and teachers of religious law. For theirs was a religion for show. They put it on like a coat, so that all might see how pious they looked. They cleaned up for the people on the outside while their hearts were polluted with sin within. They could never live up to what they preached. Having the key to knowledge regarding eternity and heaven and open doors, they withheld the truth from the people and taught instead their substitutes, cheap imitations and outdated traditions. The Pharisees, they hated ...

Pioneers of Christ

Image
' Then John went from place to place on both sides of the Jordan River, preaching that people should be baptized to show that they had repented of their sins and turned to God to be forgiven.   Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, “He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord ’s coming!      Clear the road for him!     The valleys will be filled,      and the mountains and hills made level. The curves will be straightened,      and the rough places made smooth.     And then all people will see      the salvation sent from God.’” ' Luke 3: 3-6 (NLT)  The ministry of water cleansing. And it was John's ministry, and it was a sign. He brought them out of their towns and villages to meet with him in the wilderness. He called them to himself in order to prepare them for the One that would come after. He pointed out their sin nature to...

Prayer as an Investment

Image
' Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.' Matthew 22:29 (NLT) There is no argument left about the things of this world and the one yet to come once I have been taught the truth about the Resurrection, and studied the Word of God. There is just no excuse for not knowing about God and the mistake which leads to my rebellion. The light bulb is on. The debate teams have been silent, once again. I must learn, so that I might be a willing servant. I must learn, so that I might be like a teachable child. Yet, knowing about God and His Word is not enough. I must believe and I must apply what I know in order to show myself approved. Open the Book. The Resurrection Story that I hear about is taught to me in both the Old Testament and the New.  So I invest my time and money and talents in searching for something more. I am never satisfied only with what this life has to offer me. No. I search for more. I...
