The Cost of Freedom

'“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.' John 15:18 (NIV)

It is alarming to read that the rate of Christian persecutions in the world rose 14% in 2019, to 4,136 souls. Update: 4,761 in 2020.

Dear Father. We pray to You, please end this evil trend. We see the cost of freedom is very high indeed and the Way is always covered in the blood of the innocent martyrs. Just as You were innocent and You died and Your Blood was shed for all. May all Christian persecution around the world cease in Your name. 

Please intervene and bind the spirits in the demonic realm, those same spirits that hated You first, and now set their sights on Your very own followers. Confuse their plans of destruction. End the senseless killing. Interrupt their plots of darkness. Release Your Guardian Angels.

We pray for our brothers and sisters that live by faith in majority-muslim countries. Give them peace in Your Name. Let their deaths be not in vain as thousands and thousands in these very same countries are turning to You!

We pray for those persecuted for their faith in North Korea. Give them strength in Your Power.

We pray for Your protection for faith-filled believers that live under oppressive communist governments that are hostile to them. Those very same governments murder their own people because of their faith in You Lord. We pray for peace. Shine Your Light of Life on them. Let those that seek power through darkness see the Truth or fall into their own traps of deceit. Arise Ye men of Faith, humble, peaceful and holy. Be ye the best people and citizens in all the nation and over all the earth. In so doing, bring forth not envy and strife, but joy and peace, and build it as He directs, for you are His and not a danger to any legitimate regime.

We are humbled by Your Grace Lord, and are thankful that most of us are blessed to live in a free country and will not be martyred. We love You. We bow the knee to You alone. We will wait for You as we occupy, overcome and endure until the day that You return. We pray for Your Spirit to fill the earth and the people of Pakistan, India and China with Your love. In Jesus's name. Amen.
